The Tale of the Rogue Dinobot
OK, so the title is way more interesting than my story, but Lyndon is really funny with Christmas this year. He found one of his Christmas presents in our closet (nice hiding place, Dad!). We quickly explained to him that the present he found (which is #1 on his wish list) is NOT for him, but for his Dad to take to work so it goes to a less fortunate child than him. He was totally fine with that and let us take it away. However, every single day since then he talks about Grimlock (it's a dinobot, one of the transformers that is part dinosaur, part robot) and how mad he is at Daddy for not getting it for him. He honestly think that no one is getting him presents for Christmas. It has even gotten to the point where, as a result of his dad "not getting him a present for Christmas" he said, "Daddy is making bad choices, he is not my best friend anymore." To which I respond, "Oh, that's too bad. (sarcasm) Is mommy your best friend now?" (smile.) So Grimlock is now a daily conversation piece for the next 6 days. Man is he going to be excited on Christmas day!

I read this story a few days ago, but later it sturred a memory from my childhood. My dad decided to hide some gifts at the bottom of our coat closet. My brother found them Christmas Eve evening when we were headed out to dinner. My dad was just hours away from getting away with it. I don't remember what he told us, but I remember my mom not being so pleased!
