A Visit from Baby Addelyn

Today Vince's daughter Addelyn came over. She is just about the cutest baby in the whole world. Amelia LOVED her. She was very sweet to her and liked to "help" put her binky in her mouth.

Easter

We spent Easter in St. Louis, as usual.  We had a great time.  We went to a sculpture park on Saturday, a little egg hunting and topped it off with a BBQ.  Good times.

Weird Weather

This spring has brought us some pretty oddball weather.  The kids have enjoyed it thoroughly.  The first pic is from early February, the others are from late March.

Charms, shoes, phones and lipstick.

Wow, I have become a bad blogger.  We've been very busy since our last visit.  Birthdays, vacation, Easter....bad bad excuses.  Excuses aside, does ANYONE remember charm necklaces from elementary school?  Well, my mom saved mine (a.w.e.s.o.m.e.) and I believe Amelia loves it almost as much as I did.   Amelia is such a girl I cannot believe it.  Beyond her mommy-made love for said charm necklace, she loves to put on makeup (yikes, what a mess.  keep that stuff hidden in a high place!), talk on the phone, and try on shoes.

Now, the shoe thing was definitely super cute the first few times she would put on various shoes (hand me downs, thank you Reilly!) and march around the house showing them off, we all got a kick out of it and thought it was SO cute.  The quite un-cute side of it happened when I decided I needed to go shoe shopping for her.  With her there.  And Lyndon.  For anyone who knows Amelia, you know that she generally is pretty docile and agreeable.  Not in the shoe section of Target.  She insisted on getting out of the cart, proceeded to try on like every shoe she could get her hands on.  Meanwhile I am attempting to get her and Lyndon to try on the shoes that I will actually buy...argh.  Shoes!

Skate Park

Lyndon has been obsessed with the local skate park for pretty much his whole life.  We'll walk up there and watch the kids skateboard or ride their bike for hours.  He just couldn't wait until he could play with them.  Well, that day has come.  Lyndon got a scooter for his birthday and on Saturday Aunt Monica was nice enough to take him to the skate park while Amelia, Mitchell, Vivian, Amy, and I were at the playground.  What an experience for him.  He was timid at first, but after awhile he started skating over to the end of the sidewalk where other kids were....and they started chatting him up!  They told him what cool scooter he had and made his day.  He turned and rode back to Aunt Monica beaming.  He kept riding back and forth to the other side over and over, each time stopping to chat with various kids.  All the kids were super cool to him and would even come up and stand chatting with him for a bit.  Oh, how they made his day.  On his last ride, when I told him it was time to go, he started to "jump" his scooter a little bit.  He was so proud. So was Aunt Monica.  So was I.  What a big boy.  (sniff sniff)

My what a competitive streak!

Lyndon's birthday continued into the weekend with a visit from his Mama and Papa Boarman and another birthday party with all of his grandparents and Aunt Monica, Uncle Sam, and John.  We learned one thing that evening.....this kid is Competitive.

Baby Addelyn!

Wednesday was a VERY busy day for our family. Not only was it Lyndon's 4th birthday, but Vince became a father for the first time to a beautiful baby girl. Addelyn Jane was born around 10:40 pm, weighing in at 6 lbs 1 oz and 18 inches long. We are all so excited to have another baby in the family. Vince will be such a great dad. Many congrats to Vince and Kristian.
