Lyndon has been obsessed with the local skate park for pretty much his whole life. We'll walk up there and watch the kids skateboard or ride their bike for hours. He just couldn't wait until he could play with them. Well, that day has come. Lyndon got a scooter for his birthday and on Saturday Aunt Monica was nice enough to take him to the skate park while Amelia, Mitchell, Vivian, Amy, and I were at the playground. What an experience for him. He was timid at first, but after awhile he started skating over to the end of the sidewalk where other kids were....and they started chatting him up! They told him what cool scooter he had and made his day. He turned and rode back to Aunt Monica beaming. He kept riding back and forth to the other side over and over, each time stopping to chat with various kids. All the kids were super cool to him and would even come up and stand chatting with him for a bit. Oh, how they made his day. On his last ride, when I told him it was time to go, he started to "jump" his scooter a little bit. He was so proud. So was Aunt Monica. So was I. What a big boy. (sniff sniff)

That is super-cute! How fun!
I picked up the same helmet and pads for Matson yesterday. He had picked out a red helmet on Saturday, but when I asked him if he would rather have a SpiderMan helmet and pads, of course, he said YES. :)
