Spaceships are SO Cool

Back to KU Med today for a CT scan. Again, lucky for us, we have great friends, and a couple that happen to work at KU Med to kind of show us the ropes. Today my friend Rachel, a nurse there, came and met us, took us to Radiology and stuck by us through the whole event. THANK YOU!! Again, it is so nice to have someone around that you know and trust to tell you the real deal. Rachel was able to describe to us (and Lyndon) what was going to happen this morning. This really excited Lyndon, as he was going to get to pretend like he was in a SPACESHIP. He even got to wear a sparkly blue "astronaut suit" ("lead vest" is the way the hospital describes it). No worries, Mom got to stay in the room with an astronaut suit on as well, and he did AWESOME. Stayed perfectly still as they raised him up and moved his head into the donut. He was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes (well, the CT scan anyway). To top off the super cool morning he was having, the nurse gave Lyndon a beanie baby for being such a trooper. He was really excited about this....he even said that it will replace the infamous Night Night (his sleeping buddy). I seriously doubt that one, but I'm glad he likes the present he got.

I hope to get the results of the blood work and CT scan sometime next week. I am also hopeful that we will get the hearing aids at the same time. We will see. Until then, we wait nervously.

I'm glad that you've been able to make progress with this so quickly. I know that waiting for answers is agonizing! It sounds like you've been working with some incredible staff. I love the stories they come up with to make tests bearable for Lyndon. :)
